Employee Recognition.
George Mason University and the Information Technology Unit have several ways to reward great work. The following awards are available for outstanding employees. (ITU Employee Award Recipients)
- Caught in the Act Award: This customer service award is given to ITU employees that go "that extra mile" for a customer. -back to top-
- Customer Service Excellence Award: This yearly award recognizes individuals and teams who have consistently demonstrated outstanding service and improved levels of customer satisfaction with ITU services, information, and products. -back to top-
- Employee of the Month Award: This program was established to provide recognition to ITU employees for their outstanding contributions to the ITU. -back to top-
- Immediate Recognition Award: This award is given as immediate recognition for performance, completion of a project, or event. -back to top-
- Non-Monetary Awards: These awards (gift certificates, meals, desk items, mugs, etc.) are given in recognition of an employee's or a team's outstanding efforts. -back to top-
George Mason University Award Forms
- Employee of the Month Award: This program rewards professionalism, customer service, integrity, and enthusiasm (amongst other traits). -back to top-
- Employee Suggestion Program: This program is designed to recognize and reward an employee's suggestion for the improvement of a situation, condition, method or procedure that results in cost or time savings to the university or department. -back to top-
- Exceptional Support Award: This award is designed to recognize those employees who are the "worker bees" of the University, i.e., those upon whom departments rely for the smooth running of daily departmental functions and operations. -back to top-
- "Green Me!" Spirit Award: This award is presented quarterly to faculty, staff, or student leaders who have shown exceptional effort through project or event leadership and for their dedication to educating the campus on sustainability.-back to top-
- Margaret C. Howell Award: This award recognizes individuals whose efforts carry on the work and demonstrate the character of the late Margaret C. Howell, who retired from George Mason University in 2002 after 20 years of outstanding, committed service. -back to top-
- Martha J. Reiner Quality Customer Service Award: This award is presented to individuals who have contributed to the enhancement of quality customer service at George Mason University. -back to top-
- Outstanding Achievement Award: This award is granted for achievements that result in significant benefit to the university, school, institute, or department (that is, specific accomplishments that improve processes, save time or money, or improve customer service). -back to top-
- Outstanding Supervisor Award: This award recognizes the achievements of supervisors of classified and non-student wage employees. -back to top-
- Presidential Citation: This is a non-competitive award intended to recognize the individuals who perform an exceptional deed that may or may not be related to their normal duties. -back to top-
- Quill Award (David W. Rossell Quill Award): This award (open to all administrative and professional faculty) is granted for working on projects or initiatives outside the realm of normal work duties which results in the advancement of the university's mission. -back to top-
- Sustainability Hero Award: This award is presented twice annually to a faculty or staff member or a group of faculty and/or staff members who have furthered university sustainability efforts through their creativity, dedication and heart.-back to top-
- Team Excellence Award: This yearly award is based upon outstanding performance and results due to group achievement. -back to top-
